My book is just about ready for my beta readers, and I’m wondering what formats and methods people use for getting their manuscript into readers hands, and for getting notes/edits/comments and the like back into papyrus?
My manuscript is somewhat complex as it has a a fair number of images and tables I’d like to preserve the formatting of.
Also some of my beta readers will be working collaboratively, so I’d like to be able to have “back and forth” comments and revision history available.
I’m leaning towards Google Docs for the process, but wondered if there’s a better way? Also what’d be the best way of preserving formatting if exporting/reimporting from Docs?
On another note - any tips on what the best way is to guide the process in terms of getting useful feedback from beta readers? Is it best to give them all one common brief so you can a diversity of big picture overviews, or give each reader a request to focus on a few specific aspects?
