Calculated Field problem on clicking Apply

I have a formula for a cell:
y202216 + y202217 + y202218 + y202219 + y202220 + y202221 + y202222

but when I click on Apply it is changed to:
Y5608 + y202217 + y202218 + y202219 + y202220 + y202221 + y202222

I have tried using brackets and new lines to adjust the layout but no difference.

I then tried using y202216 on its own and it still changed to Y5608. It also changed when y202216 was put at the end. I then tried y202222 on its own and that was Ok.

I then changed the name of the original cell to ty202216 but that simply gave TY5608.

I got round the problem by naming the cell ttcell so it seems to be something to do with the number component.

Many thanks for any assistance.

PS Happening in other cells also. Examples:

y202721 + Y6115 + y202723 + y202724 + y202725 + y202726 + y202727

Y6215 + y202823 + y202824 + y202825 + y202826 + y202827 + y202828

I corrected these to y202722 and y202822 respectively and these stayed Ok. I then went back to the original and changed the cell name back to y202216 and the problem did not reappear. Odd, and unfortunately not reproducible. I have a video of the change if that is of any assistance.

Hi @jlog, good to hear from you! :sun_with_face:

I tried reproducing this, but couldn’t get anything.

If you go “View” → “Show Invisible Elements”, does anything unusual pop up in these cells, or is it just numbers and the cell’s label? If there’s something else, I’d love some screenshots! :camera_flash:

Absolutely. I’m eager to see this! :grimacing: :grimacing:

Hi Sam. I sent you an email with the video and a suggestion that the problem was caused, in part, by the use of a misspelled cell name in Calculated Field. I say in part because I think I recall that previously Papyrus would have caught this error and not mangled the Calculated Field contents.

Anyway, for me the problem has been resolved. Many thanks, as always.
