I’m interested in moving from Scrivener to Papyrus but I like to work with different Story Structures / Beats than the defaults I believe are loaded in Papyrus. My trial ran out beofre I had the chance to play with this properly, so my question is - can we edit / add our own sets of Story Structure steps to use in the app?
Hi, and welcome to the Community!
At the moment, the story structures available are the Hero’s Journey, 3-Act, and 5-Act structures.
If you’re working with something else (like Save the Cat! Or the Story Circle), you can still map that out in Papyrus with some of the other features:
Add a title comment (or regular comment) on the chapter or scene
This way, you can always pick up on the beat in the Navigator or the Organizer:
Use the abstract field as your beat label:
Not as cool as having a built-in template, but it lets you drop in whatever structure you want, and keep it visible while you write.
If you want to take a crack at these features again, you can direct message me your email address and we’ll go from there.
