When I turn on my computer after a couple of days of no writing, it tends to be a bit slow to connect to the internet and papyrus will come up with a dialogue box saying it’s only available online… it then opens fine when I’m connected. Is this normal?? Just something I’ve noticed recently
Hi! ![]()
Is this a recent development, or has it been going on for a while?
Papyrus needs just a second (or less) of internet connection every few weeks, so if you’re getting a message like that every few days, I’d say there’s interference from your operating system or antivirus happening! ![]()
In an earlier thread you mentioned you’re on Windows 10 and AVG antivirus. Have you recently updated to Windows 11?
I’m thinking, a few of the recent updates (KB5066835 and KB5068861) have had some reports of internet-related problems. There are some tricks we can try, or in the worst-case-scenario the updates can even be rolled back. ![]()
But if it’s a minor inconvenience, we could wait for one more Windows update to roll out and see if that fixes it!
