Papyrus timeline for opening native PDF files

When I try to open a PDF file in Papyrus Author I get the response: “Importing plain PDF documents is planned for a future version of Papyrus.”

Can you please give an indication of when that is likely to come about?

Hi Brian!

I don’t have a timeline for this feature. Opening regular PDF files as editable Papyrus documents isn’t on our immediate roadmap at the moment.

If you’re collaborating on PDFs, Papyrus can create .pap/pdf hybrid files, where the original Papyrus document is embedded inside a PDF.

Those files can be opened again in Papyrus and edited, and still work as a normal PDF for anyone else.

:light_bulb: You can make a .pap.pdf in the normal PDF export view with the “Save as PDF/PAP hybrid” checkbox checked:

Hope this helps! :sun_with_face:

Thanks Sam.
