I have a suggestion for adding symbols that cover plot devices. You have the cauldron and a clock, but I’d also like to also see high stakes, red herring, foreshadowing, cliffhanger, and plot twist. This is low priority, but seeing an actual red herring instead of a red square would make me happy

Great idea! Would you enjoy if the icons would be categorized like that in the selector, e.g.
“plot devices” or “story arc” etc.?
What are you using the cauldron and clock for? 
I’m thinking in terms of ‘Plot Devices.’ I like them as easy visuals. The clock is for when the ticking clock begins, and other points of change along that thread. In my current story, it begins when it becomes known that the crystal formations are spreading at several inches per hour and will reach the village in several days. The cauldron is a little more difficult, I haven’t added it yet. Maybe it’ll be when the Shorlings have to work with their enemy the Dragonkin to defeat their common enemy.
Also, there needs to be the ability to add more than one symbol. For example, I like to flag different draft statuses with a different colored flag but also want to see the Plot Device(s).
