Project Template w/ Navigator Notes

I write a series that follows a basic chapter-by-chapter blueprint. I set up my last book with notes in the Navigator, so that when I clicked on each chapter I would see the beats that needed to happen in that chapter.

I’m starting my next book, and I have set up a new, clean project with these notes set up for each chapter. How do I save this as a template so that it’s all there for my next book?

Hey,

That’s a smart way to tackle the empty page! :books:

A great way to re-use the same .pap file is by saving it as a Papyrus Template (.pav). Here’s how:

  1. Go to File → “Save as…”
  2. Switch the file type in the menu from “Papyrus” to “Papyrus Template”:

:bulb: You’ll recognize the template files by the “.pav” ending in the file name (like “Blueprint.pav”).

When you open the template in Papyrus and save, it’ll create a normal .pap file as a copy. Your template stays untouched. :scroll:

Hi Sam,

Thank you so much. I just did this, and I see my new project still as a .pap and the Template as a .pav. I also tried out typing in the template and saving, and I see exactly what you mean about it prompting to save as a .pap.

Thanks for your clear explanation! This will save me a lot of time with each new book, and I plan to make a similar template for a novella series.
