Not Displaying In Text: Readability, Style Analysis, Spell Check

Hi,

I have been working on a couple of projects for a few months (paid version: Papyrus Author+ version 11.09g Mac dated 2024-6-10). So far, everything has worked well, but now that I am finally attempting to use the editing features - Style Analysis, Readability, and Spell Check - none of them are showing within the text.

The SA and Readability Stats show up in the overall report, but when I click on the icons at the bottom of the screen nothing shows up in the text. When I hover over the icons, they say “enabled”. A couple of times, when I have clicked on the icons, the screen does a little flicker…like maybe it’s glitching.

The software says it is up to date, and I have watched the tutorial videos and read the other forum posts. At this point, I’m not sure how to troubleshoot.

Thanks.

Hi, and welcome to the Community! :sun_with_face:

It’s possible Papyrus Author thinks your text is a citation, which would cause the Style Analysis to skip over it.

Here’s a quick test:

  • Does the text have a light green color?
  • If you right-click on it, is there a mention of “Citation”? If so, try clicking Delete Citation Source, and the Style Analysis should work its magic again!

Here’s topic that sounds similar: When I make a new chapter and copy into papyrus from word, text is a light green and i cant change it

If that doesn’t solve it, snap a quick screenshot of what your text looks like, and we’ll go from there. :camera_flash:

Or, feel free to send the document my way via private message, and I’ll take a closer look. :mag:

Hi Sam,

Thanks for the quick response

It’s definitely not an issue of thinking the text is a citation. I looked again at settings and can’t figure out the issue, so I will send you one of the drafts via private message.

Thanks!
Nicole
