hi!
i’m currently giving papyrus the 8 day trial and it’s neat software! i was previously looking at vellum for book publishing but that would require that i get a mac too because i’m a pc guy.
but i have to say that the price for papyrus 12 is an insurmountable hurtle for me. i’m not a professional author, i haven’t really started writing anything yet, and frankly, i fully expect that i will never make any money whatsoever from any books i self-publish unless i really twist the arms of cousins to buy a copy : ) . and that’s if i ever finish anything at all…
but i have a kind of malady where before i start, i need to know that i have the way all paved up to the finish - all the way up to producing publishable output. yeah i know - it’s a sickness : ) . but i have a feeling i’m not the only one.
would you consider having different price tiers for non-professional “hobbyists” like me? there are other kinds of software that charge a lower price before a person makes $X amount of money? so like a lower price for papyrus for authors who’ve never made over $1000 for their work or something like that (lol or would that put too many potential customers in that category?)? like about half the current price would be do-able for me personally - what i could justify to myself as someone newly (inadvertently) retired. on a less selfish level, you might actually make more money in sales by getting more people through the door too.
anyway, no problem if this can’t be considered. it’s your software after all, that you’ve evidently put a ton of work into and you are absolutely free to price as you see fit and keep in the professional tier.
i just figured it can’t hurt to ask. : )
thanks much and great work!
